Teach English In China is a small UK based company and as a result, we take the time to build great relationships with all our future teachers and tailor perfect placements for them. We have been working with the same schools for many years so we can be sure they are of the highest quality, run by staff we trust.

A summer or a year in China can be an extremely rewarding experience on both a personal and professional level. It’s easy to forget this job isn’t just for people who have a career in the classroom in mind. It’s a once in a life time opportunity that can open doors in most industries, as well as leaving you with new friends, transferable skills and memories for life. It truly is an experience like no other.

It is important to us that you become part of our teacher community. From the start you are encouraged to play an active part in our social media pages, as well as meeting likeminded people at the London orientation day before leaving the UK. Many of our teachers form friendship groups who they then travel with, be it a visit to another Chinese city, or a long stretch of exploring South East Asia. For us, a strong community of teachers is key to a supported and happy placement.

Preparing for a year in China can seem daunting, but a former teacher is always on hand to answer any questions and give advice based on their own experiences in China. Once you arrive in China, you will have a contact person to turn to for any problems. We will be there every step of your placement and we will support you in every way we can.

When it comes to classroom content, we provide a wealth of resources through our lesson plan library which has games, topics and seasonal fun for a range of age groups. Our aim is for everyone to walk into the classroom with confidence and get the very best out of their time in China.

Part of our ethos is to keep valued former teachers involved with the growth of our company. Not only are they there to provide advice, but they also attend your training days, create videos and work on the teaching resources we share. This keeps our knowledge of teaching in China current, relevant and interesting so we can offer you the best placement possible.
