Your adventure includes…

We’re here to make your journey run as smoothly as possible. To help you get off on the right foot by saving time, money and hassle, the program guarantees:

Money towards your flight

All our partner schools commit to contributing 8000-10,000 RMB towards your outbound flight from your home country. Note you’ll only receive this once you’ve arrived and started work, so will need to be able to cover the full initial cost.

A monthly housing allowance

Our partners take the stress out of finding somewhere to live by helping you find your new home, giving you a 2500-3000 RMB monthly housing  allowance and providing a place to stay while you search.

Start-to-finish support

From the highs to the lows, we get what it’s like to live and teach in China. You’ll receive unlimited support from our advisors, who are here to answer questions, give advice and solve problems, every step of the way.

Professional development training

No experience? No problem. Whether you’ve taught before or not, pre-departure and post-arrival training sessions will equip you with the skills and confidence you need to take the classroom by storm.

Full visa application guidance

Getting a Chinese work visa isn’t easy right now. Why go it alone? Save yourself time and energy with step-by-step guides and assistance that take you from application to arrival without the stress of trying to make sense of the process.

Access to our community

It’s the people you meet along the way that make a good experience great. You’ll be put in touch with our awesome community of teachers – past and present – from day one, helping you adjust, settle in and make friends from the get-go.

HOW IT WORKS

The school types on offer

You’ll need to keep an open mind on where you work. But whatever happens, you’ll kickstart your adventure in one of three different school types…

State School

Looking to fully immerse yourself in Chinese school culture? A public school’s the place. Work alongside local staff and teach classes of up to 40 students in a primary, middle or high school. You’ll follow a Monday to Friday schedule, leaving you weekends to roam around.

Private School

Get a taste of private education with one of these placements. Work Monday to Friday and teach slightly smaller classes of up to 25 students.

Training Center

If earning potential is what you’re after, look no further. Training centers, aka extracurricular language schools, offer high salaries and awesome training opportunities. Note that does come at the cost of weekends – your schedule will likely run from Wednesday to Sunday.

teaching at an international school

International School

If earning potential and long-term career development is what you’re after, look no further. International schools offer high salaries and a chance to teach other subjects than English, like Physics and Maths. Applicants with degrees in Physics and Maths who are not native English speakers can be considered for international schools.

FAQs

Still got questions? See if we can help

Absolutely! We encourage you to let us know which type of school you’re most interested in working at if you already know. We have placements in 3 different types of schools:

  1. State schools (Monday-Friday)
  2. Private schools (Monday-Friday)
  3. Private training centres (Wednesday to Sunday)

Although we’ll do our best to accommodate these, it’s essential you’re open to any school type. That’s because a relatively small number of schools in China can currently invite foreign teachers, so your choice is limited.

The same goes for location. We can only place you where jobs are available. Recently our teachers have made it to Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Wuhan – some of the most likely destinations. Basically, we ask that you keep an open mind!

All visa related fees are to be paid by you, the applicant. We’re here to guide you through the process and ensure you know what you need to do and when you need to do it, in the most efficient, affordable way. In some cases, your school may reimburse some, if not all, of the visa costs after you arrive and start work.

Launching a teach abroad adventure is complicated and time consuming; we’re here to make it easier through start-to-finish support services that help you get a visa, get qualified, settle in, and make the most of your adventure. For our team to be able to do this, we require all participants to pay a program fee. If you want to go it alone, we’re not stopping you, but you’re much more likely to succeed with us to guide you.

Honestly, until we’ve spoken to you, we can’t. We first need to know more about you and what you’re looking for. The initial application and screening call are free of charge; you don’t need to pay a penny until you’ve decided to enrol. And by that time, we’re certain we can find a school for you. If on the off chance we can’t, don’t worry – you’ll be covered by our refund policy.

Transparency is at the heart of what we do, which is why we keep you informed about everything, every step of the way. You’ll join our team and fellow teachers once a month for group Zoom updates on everything from PU letters to flights and quarantine.

We keep things simple. If you’re not assigned a school or offered a contract through our program, you’ll receive a full refund.

However, if your plans change after you’ve agreed to a school and have signed a contract, we cannot offer a refund. A lot of work goes into getting you this far. Things like prolonged uncertainty about the school obtaining a PU letter, a COVID -19 infection after agreeing a contract that changes the school’s willingness to hire you, or the cost of flights to China are out of our control, and therefore not grounds for a refund.

Of course, we want to make sure you have a fulfilling adventure abroad. Should any of these matters affect your China plans, you’ll have the chance to transfer your program fee to an Impact Teaching programme in Thailand or Vietnam. Note that your chosen programme may require a small additional payment.

No, there is no guaranteed start date. Rules are changing almost every day in China, so it’s hard to predict the country’s border policies and our partner schools’ ability to obtain PU letters. Based on our current applicants’ progress, expect an average of 6-9 months between the time you enrol on our programme and the time you can travel to China.

Of course, there’s a chance it could be quicker or longer, which is why we suggest keeping your current job while you prepare for the move.

If you’re a graduate looking for the fastest and safest way to secure rewarding employment in China, then this is for you.
